Alexander Mishon was a Russian photographer and cinematographer, who was born to a French family in Kharkiv, Ukraine, in 1858. Mishon started his career as a photographer and owned a commercial studio on Aziz Aliyev Street in Baku, where he lived for some 25 years. Alexander Michon was secretary of the Baku photographic society and is regarded as one of the pioneers of Azerbaijani cinema.
